The designers explain about the latest fashion trends, in the marriage attires. Girls generally opt for A-line Lehengas, as they make them look slimmer, says a designer about the bride tunics.
"The colours and costumes are supposed to be very rich in the Indian wedding. India is a country famous for the best of fabrics. In a proper Indian wedding, we should wear something ethnic. It is an Indo-Western out fit proper for a reception, a traditional kind of war for a Mehndi and a western outfit for a cocktail," emphasizes Alka Suman, a famous fashion designer.
Riding on the popularity charts is 'embroidery' traditional arts on the wedding costumes. Embroidery is deeply embedded in the Indian culture, says the designer Renu Dadlani. "We are into timeless embroidery like Parsi, Kashmiri, Chicken embroidery that has taken leaps and bounds over the years. Even in international market, it has been accepted, as one of the best embroidery," says Renu.
